Democratic Legislators Sam Gonzalez and William Spencer think its a good idea to make smoking at home illegal... if New York legalizes adult-use cannabis this would require Suffolk County residents, guests and visitors, to leave the County to consume their tobacco/cannabis, to avoid breaking the law.
"Suffolk County is proposing the most stringent anti-smoking law in New York — banning private citizens from smoking in their own apartments, condominiums, and multi-family homes.
Legislator Sam Gonzalez, the sponsor of the bill, told a local CBS affiliate that he did not think the bill was excessive."
While this seems to only address tobacco use, it’s implication (and timing) appears to also be targeting cannabis use.
If so, this is one of the most outrageous proposals I've seen regarding cannabis.
If adult-use cannabis becomes legalized in NY.... where will adults in Suffolk County consume their legal cannabis?
